Summer Math Camp

June 24 – July 31

This 6-week summer camp is for students who have been promoted to the next grade level but are not equipped with the fundamental math skills they need to succeed at that level resulting in them falling further behind each year.

What Is It?

Confident Calculators Summer Math Camp (CCSMC) is a virtual math camp designed to teach and build the fundamental math skills that students will need to succeed. In CCSMC students will learn foundational math skills, “unlearn” incorrect practices, and gain the confidence they need to succeed in school and in life!

What It Is Not!

Confident Calculators Summer Math Camp (CCSMC) is not…

Just tutoring.
Yes, your child will improve their math skills, but they will get so much more! As a Confident Calculator, your child will be equipped with tools they can use to master math and manage their mindset.
Get-fixed-quick scheme!
Students will be required to engage and do the work in order to succeed.
Busy work!
The activities and assignments that students receive are necessary in building their math skills and self-esteem.

Who Should Enroll?

Middle schoolers who are currently struggling through math due to a lack of foundational skills.
A student who was in either 3rd or 4th grade during the pandemic and missing fundamental math skills.
A rising 6th grader who needs skills reinforcement before heading to middle school.
A student experiencing math anxiety/aversion and needs tools to help them manage their feelings around math.
A student who needs a nurturing teacher that will patiently teach and encourage them along the way.

This camp is designed to build math skills and self-confidence by offering a combination of engaging math instruction, fun real-world math activities, and mindset mentoring.

What’s Being Taught?

Students will learn in small group sessions with individualized attention. They will receive instruction in these four areas:

Foundational
Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division
Fundamental
Fractions, Decimals, Exponents, and Integers.
Functional
Equations, Graphing, Substitution, Order of Operations
Fluency
Number Sense, Vocabulary, Variables, Word Problems
