Algebra Readiness Camp

June 24 – July 29

This 6-week summer enrichment is for students who have been promoted to Algebra 1 but have not mastered the skills or gained the confidence they need to succeed at the Algebra 1 level. They have taken Pre-Algebra but may have struggled through it or may not have received great instruction.

What Is It?

Confident Calculators Algebra Readiness Camp (CCARC) is a virtual math camp designed to teach and build the most fundamental algebraic skills that students will need when they take Algebra 1. In CCARC students will learn crucial algebraic skills, “unlearn” incorrect practices, and gain the confidence they need to succeed in school and in life!

What It Is NOT

Confident Calculators Algebra Readiness Camp (CCARC) is not…

Just tutoring.
Yes, your child will learn algebraic skills, but they will get so much more! As a Confident Calculator, your child will be equipped with tools they can use to master math and manage their mindset.
Get-fixed-quick scheme!
Students will be required to engage and do the work in order to succeed. It is recommended that they spend one additional hour outside of camp time to reinforce the skills they’re learning in camp.
Busy work!
The activities and assignments that students receive are necessary in building their math skills and self-esteem.

Who Should Enroll?

Rising 7th and 8th graders who will be enrolled in Algebra 1 next school year.
Students in 8th or 9th grade who have failed Algebra 1 and/or need skills reinforcement.
Students who passed Algebra 1 but need practice to prevent summer learning loss.
A student experiencing math anxiety/aversion and needs tools to help them manage their feelings around math.
A student who needs a nurturing teacher that will patiently teach and encourage them along the way.
